Dr. Vakhshoori (“Dr. V.”) grew up surrounded by medical doctors as family members and realized early on that good health was her mission in life. She chose to go to Loma Linda University due to their whole-body approach (Dentistry, like other sciences, is continuously improving and Dr. V.’s passion is to be part of the group of dentists who are at the leading edge of improving her field. She is in communication with leading health practitioners in Micro-Dentistry, Biological and Laser Dentistry, as well as related medicine worldwide.
Numerous studies show the link between gum disease and a host of other diseases such as heart disease, stroke, low birth weight, diabetes, etc. Therefore, Dr. V. believes in a thorough exam of gums and eliminating gum disease, in combination with use of Laser and other favorable methods.
Since each individual has a different susceptibility to cavities, Dr.V cultures for mouth’s bacteria and follow up with a cavity prevention protocol fit for each individual.
Dr. Vakhshoori has received a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from University of California - Davis with highest honors (1988), a D.D.S. in Dentistry from Loma Linda University with honors and award (1992), and an Advanced Education in Dentistry and Practical Training at University of California, San Francisco (1993).

Dr. Vakhshoori's associate Dr. Taproop Virk graduated in 1997 from SGRD Institute of Dental Science & Research, India. She practiced dentistry for several years until completing her studies again from University of California School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 2004 with high honors to obtain her California License. Dr. Virk is highly trained and shares the same principles in regards to dental procedures as Dr. Vakhshoori envisions for the practice as she does restorative and periodontal therapy in the practice.
Dr. V. is focusing mainly on the Oral Systemic Balance Therapy that addresses oral muscular and joint impaired functions of the jaw that causes sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and snoring along with myriad of other side effects such as breathing, swallowing and chronic headaches .
When one uses the term holistic in dentistry, one mainly refers to the most common meaning of it which is to not use any mercury in fillings and also to remove the mercury with a safe method. The word holistic also refers to the entirety of health not just focusing on one area of the body in this case, the mouth. As it is an individual and case by case matter each patient is listened to and cared for in that manner. Ensuring the healthiest and most comprehensive dental / health possible for each individual. There is a high emphasis on minimizing chances of infection and many other complications that goes unrecognized in most cases.
